When it comes to the questions, I discussed them in class with Rianna, and we decided to create an initial Draft of questions, which, depending on the person being interviewed, we will ask specific questions. They were made taking into consideration the target audience of the documentary. We want the conversation to go as smoothly as possible, without it feeling forced, so that the interviewee can express their thoughts freely. We plan for a 30-minute conversation with each of them, where we will address questions that they will feel comfortable responding to. I saw this fluidity in George Condo's interview, and I want to achieve a similar level of candour with my candidates.
They will receive these questions a few days before the interview, allowing them to prepare and discuss them effectively. We also informed them that the questions are flexible and they can come up with relevant questions as well. This can make them feel included and perhaps loosen the tension they might feel from the cameras and gear pointed at them. Using all this freedom of expression, we will be able to pick from the raw footage whatever is most impactful and helps our message to be delivered.
