Making of
When it comes to making the article, I decided to apply all my previous knowledge from last year's magazine project and focus on Ovidiu Avram ( one of the artists that I interviewed ). I will do a Biography on him that is also connected with the issues of the documentary. Looking back at the articles I researched, I realized that I want to do something more creative and include the brand essence in it. Using the brand image made for the social media page that consists of handwritten text with that chunky and bold font, I decided to make the Tile and Sub-headings this way to further connect the mediums and to respect conventions. I am sure that in the documentary I will use this type of text as well for the same reason. Now that this is straightened out, I will focus on making the content ( text ) by splitting it into multiple questions and segments, the main one being " Is it too late for me to find my artistic passion?" This would be a good magazine title as it can attract the interest of older people, as it creates a sense of hope to an inner question. Then I thought of sub-headings that I can use to showcase different topics, and I came up with this:
Source of inspiration
Is it too late?
What does Avram illustrate in his work?
These titles create engagement with the audience and can further attract possible consumers to the documentary. The text will be in a two-column journal format for easier reading and a more organized look. Pictures are shown in the article about his paintings and him. This can allow the consumer to have a visual illustration of the text, creating a deeper connection. I didn't want to follow a normal narrative for the pictures, as the other articles that I researched had, therefore I have arranged them in a more magazine-like way with random alignments for that unorganized but professional look
In the pictures above, I have shown the different alignments of text. I ended up using the one in the first picture even though Rianna told me to use the second one. In my opinion, it felt too tight and unnatural.

In PremierPro, the brush Blackburn with a dark Brown Color was used to create all the titles and headings. Mainly because the same brush and colors were used to create the Instagram page, but also because it is part of the identity that "The Eastern Lens" has.
The content text was completely made in Canva, and after going back and forth between a few fonts, I decided to stick with "Alice". It has an elegant and sophisticated look, but it's also simple. No other fonts have that which made me remain with this choice. Writing the text took me a few hours, and it was exceptionally hard as I tried a more formal narration to be received professionally.

What platforms did I use?
For creating the article itself, I used the app Canva as it has a faster interface than other apps like Photoshop, and in this kind of project where pasting images and writing text is required, Canva is more than enough.
The Title and subheadings were made in ProCreate because of the available brushes there. We wanted to keep the same writing style, therefore Rianna hand-wrote the text on ProCreate and sent it to me as a PNG file. From there, I pasted it into the article and moved it where I wanted.
I researched Ovidiu more thoroughly to have a better understanding of him and his past, leading to a better Biography. To do that, I wrote his name on Google and started looking into different articles and pieces of content that involved him. I also discovered that he has his Website where he posts his artworks, exhibitions, biography, and other things. I have attached the links to multiple articles that helped me with the content. Also, using Google images, I was able to see and download different images of his paintings and of him that I can further paste onto the article.
1st Draft plus feedback
Feedback
I asked my teacher and friend to give me feedback and an honest opinion on the magazine. I received very useful advice from them all, but the one most useful was from my teacher, of course. This happened because he knows what to look for and what I missed out on.
My friends Feedback
Looking professional, but no sense in the spacing of the text
Good content, formal approach
Spelling mistakes
No brand Logo
Creative
My teachers Feedback
Good content
Original
Spelling mistakes
No page numbers
No original photos
No writer name
My teacher saw more missing conventions, and I cannot understand how I forgot to add basic conventions, such as a page number and the writer of the article. I also realized that none of the pictures that I have attached to the article were made by me. This will be an easy fix as I can use Pictures from the Future Documentary ( the same ones I used in the social media posts ). In my opinion, the feedback came out positive, and I am really happy with how it turned out as well.
Final
The changes
All the changes I made were easy fixes. I added random page numbers as if they were to be in a magazine ( 23, 24, 25 ). On the last page, the text "- Written by Matei Miko" was added to identify the writer of the magazine ( me ). The biggest spelling mistakes were made in Ovidiu Avram's name, as I have written it Aram instead of Avram, but I also identified others that somehow slipped. Maybe because I was writing fast and I didn't check the text before exporting it. I took the same picture that I have put on social media ( unblurred ) and pasted it instead of one from the internet.
