Preliminary task reflection

I found the preliminary task very helpful, it taught me a lot about video production and editing, but also about certain aspects that I had overlooked before. In the production department, I have learned the importance of good lighting and good framing, as those 2 factors were a bit off in the final video. I should have brought with me a portable light that would have acted as a fill light, which would have improved a lot the look of the video as I only used natural light that came from behind and from the right side (behind me). I put two arrows to illustrate where the light comes from in the picture below

When framing the setting, I neglected where my Phone would stand as I didn't have a Phone stand available, therefore, I needed to improvise by putting my phone on a gym rack. This is why I ended up having a bad frame originally, which I ended up cutting to my liking in Premiere Pro by using the crop tool and cutting 6% of the top and left sides of the frame. This ended up centring us and giving us a more focused and professional look.
In the panorama below, you can see the before and after the 6% cut
The whole process of filming took about 20 minutes, and it included the setup, speaking to Vlad, going over the questions, and filming. The raw footage took 7 minutes, and in the end, I used 2 minutes from it. Another problem that I found out about later when editing was that the quality was low because I forgot to correctly clean the lenses on my phone, therefore, it looks a bit washed. Using the cinematic mode on my Phone also came with a downside, as the Auto Focus mode was turned on, which isn't too good, as we can see if we zoom in on one of the faces.
All these challenges in production have allowed me to improve my skills in producing and directing. Going to edits, I encountered a big problem. Premier Pro. Which till then I haven't used. This was a challenge, but I managed to learn how to use it thanks to Premiere Pro's tutorial system. After I'd done a few tutorials, I was in more control of the app, I imported the video, and started working. I faced a few challenges that I mentioned in previous posts, but in the end,
I enjoyed editing videos a lot, and it was a fun experience as a whole. It took about 3/4 hours to finish, and I was pleased with the result, being my first Premier Pro project.
In conclusion, I learned a lot from this experience and I am proud of the outcome. There is still a lot of room for improvement, and I want to "fill the room" till my final task by watching tutorials, videos, and my teacher, and making useful mistakes
